The Great Camp Adventure

Join the FUN in a camp-themed challenge-by-choice adventure walk to benefit SickKids

My family and I signed up for The Canaccord Genuity Great Camp Adventure a fundraising walk benefitting SickKids Hospital this September. We're pumped about the event because it's a walk designed for families (although anyone can participate) and it's stocked with fun camp-themed activities along the route and at campsites (aka break stations).

If you choose to walk the entire route it's 20km of fun, but if your little one can only do 2km, you'll be scooped up along the way and brought back to the main "campsite" to join in the camping good fun (don't worry, no one is actually sleeping in tents – we all go home at the end of the day).

If you live close to Toronto and are interested in hearing more about this family-friendly fundraising event, come out to the Open House this Saturday at the Balmy Beach Club in the Beach.

To get ready, The Great Camp Adventure is hosting an Open House on Saturday, June 1 at the Balmy Beach Club in the Beach.

Here are 8 reasons you don’t want to miss the Open House:

  1. You and your Cabinmates will get to spend a great morning together testing out those happy feet as we set out on an up-to 5KM challenge-by-choice training walk
  2. You’ll get to meet  Andy, host of YTV Crunch and Q107’s Ryan Parker who will be hanging out with us at our Campsite
  3. We’ll try out our game skills and our meal song singing voices at the Campsite along the way.  There will be yummy snacks and water to hydrate.
  4. You can register right on the spot for The Great Camp Adventure on September 28 and receive your limited edition t-shirt and lanyard
  5. You’ll get to make your very own wood cookie (what’s a wood cookie)
  6. Big Campers: remember friendship bracelets?  Well here’s your chance to make them again.
  7. When you finish the walk you’ll be rewarded with a S’more treat, who doesn’t like a S’more?
  8. Take a big step to change kids’ health for keeps! By participating in this event, and fundraising for SickKids, you can help make a difference.
