Global Pet Foods Asks, "Show Us Your Heart"

How we can be a Valentine to those in need this February 14

Valentine's Day is more than paper hearts and boxes of chocolate, and for the seventh straight year, Global Pet Foods and Hill's Science Diet are reminding us of that.

Once again, the "Show Us Your Heart" campaign encourages the adoption of cats and dogs that are stuck in shelters and need good homes – or at the very least, donations which will make just as much of a difference.

By donating as little as $1 at any Global Pet Foods store between February 2 to 16, Global Pet Foods and Hill's Science Diet will match it. While if you donate $5 or more in-store, you'll also receive 10 bonus Air Miles points – as well as the feeling of knowing you're actually making a difference.

All proceeds from the campaign will go directly towards local animal shelters across Canada – like the $400,000 raised since 2006.

"Our real customers are the cats and dogs," said Jim Walker, president of Global Pet Foods. "Show Us Your Heart is our way to give back to pets and the incredible local organizations and volunteers that support them in communities across Canada."

Don Cherry – and his dog, Blue – agree. The 2013 face of Show Us Your Heart, the devoted pet parent and local shelter supporter couldn't be more excited.

"I really admire people who rescue animals," he said. "It's not about how a cat or dog acts or looks. Choosing a rescue is about the desire to truly help an animal; that's what Show Us Your Heart is all about."

Absolutely! Which is why donating even $1 can make a difference. Countless animals are in shelters, so if you can't adopt an actual pet, make this Valentine's Day the one to exemplify your love of animals.

If you can't make it in-store, you can donate via PayPal, or text HEART to 20222 to donate $5.
