Easy And Delicious Smoothies For Kids

You won't have to fight to get the kids to eat their fruits with these delicious smoothies!

I am a big fan of smoothies and enjoy them on the regular. During my childhood and early teenage years, I was never into eating fruit, but they became more fun and easy to consume once I started making smoothies. I love mixing different fruits and flavours to create a tasty and nutritious beverage that can be put together in mere minutes. These blended frozen fruit recipes are great for kids as they feel more like an icy treat than a healthy snack, all the while providing little ones with essential nutrients and contributing to their recommended fruit serving for the day.

These simple smoothie recipes are likely to appeal to picky eaters and fruit-shunners alike. The Chocolate Banana Smoothie combines the sweet flavours of bananas and dates with cacao powder, cinnamon and spinach for a treat that tastes decadent but is actually full of nutritional benefits. The colour of this smoothie might be a little intimidating for some, but we swear you can’t taste the spinach! Before you decide to omit this ingredient, consider that it’s a very good source of Vitamins A and C, Calcium and Iron. It’s definitely one of my favourite ingredients to add to smoothies for a nutritional boost. For little ones who tend to gravitate towards sugar-filled juices, try the Tropical Smoothie for a refreshing drink that is made with natural ingredients and without additional sugar. I love drinking this smoothie year round, especially on days that I don’t feel like eating my fruits.

I like to purchase frozen fruit or freeze my fruit beforehand so that my smoothies are cold and creamy. If you choose to use fresh fruit, simple add a handful of ice cubes before blending to give your drink a thicker consistency. Either smoothie is a yummy choice for kids of any age and we hope that they enjoy them as much as we do!
