Chrissy Teigen Talks Being Pregnant In The Public Eye

Not one to hide her bump, Chrissy Teigen opens up about modeling through her pregnancy

We said it before and we’ll say it again: Chrissy Teigen is one of the most down-to-earth, hilarious celebrities out there. And since announcing her pregnancy back in October 2015, she has been making us laugh and smile with everything she does. Come on, have you read her Twitter lately?

Teigen recently did an interview with Cosmopolitan and talked about what it’s like being a pregnant model who is constantly in the spotlight.

She’s been shooting campaigns all throughout her pregnancy and when asked about a recent shoot for XOXO, Teigen revealed she was four months pregnant when the pictures were taken (could have fooled us!).

“I’m all over the place with the whole bump thing. We had to cheat a little bit and do some different angle work. It wasn’t a huge concern,” she shared. “But if I were to shoot it now, it would be a different ball game. I did a shoot the other day where we hid it and it’s not the easiest right now.”

But she isn’t always hiding it. On the February cover of InStyle Australia, Teigen is proudly displaying her bump in some #stylethebump worthy outfits. And Teigen says she isn’t afraid to show off her bump.

“I really do feel more confident. I keep telling everybody, there’s no pressure anymore. There is something very beautiful about being pregnant. I think I enjoy being pregnant more than not being pregnant. I know it could go either way and the next pregnancy could be the complete opposite.”

And you won’t catch Teigen in a pregnancy muumuu anytime soon, but not for the reason you might think.

“Actually, when I wear things that look a little lazier, I act a little lazier. If I wear a maxi dress and sandals, I'll do this waddle that I don't normally do. I just look horrible. I have more confidence when I'm a little more dressed up.”

Just like the rest of us, Teigen is concerned about what pregnancy is going to do to her body—but she is all about prevention.

“I'm interested to see what I'm going to look like after, but I really do love working out right now, and I love how I've gone about my whole stretch-mark lotion routine. I'm doing everything I can to take really good care of myself right now. Before I would go on a binge of eating crazy, hearty foods and not working out, and then I'll do something like Sports Illustrated and so I would work out like crazy for a month. Now I have more of a steady routine.”

Her stretch-mark routine? She lathers her belly in La Mer’s Concentrate. With a $500 price tag per bottle, we definitely agree with Teigen when she says it’s the most luxurious thing she does.
