Haylie Duff Happily Chooses Breastfeeding Over Her Pre-Baby Body

At the risk of a low milk supply, Haylie Duff decided to focus less on losing weight and more on bonding with her baby

It’s been nine months since Haylie Duff gave birth to her daughter Ryan Ava, and in that time, she has not pushed herself to return to her pre-baby figure. However, The Real Girl's Kitchen author admitted that she is completely fine with that.

In an interview with Wonderwall, she mentioned, “I have not put pressure on myself to lose everything right away.”

Duff explained that her exercise routine is not strenuous—being limited to daily walks—since she is more focused on breastfeeding.

“I had sort of an interesting situation when I was nursing where if I was working out too much or cutting my calories, my milk supply really went down,” the actress, age 30, revealed to Wonderwall.

Duff had to make the decision on whether breastfeeding was worth it.

“So for me, it was a struggle because I really wanted to focus on losing weight and getting my body back. But at the end of the day, I had to sit down and make the decision that meant the most to me—and that was breastfeeding my baby.”

“It’s a slow and steady process—the same way it was when I gained it,” she shared. “I’m feeling positive about it. Every week it’s like more off and more off. It’s just gonna be what it’s gonna be. The plus side is I have a beautiful, healthy little girl.”

Although, just because she isn’t putting her body through work doesn’t mean she isn’t focused on being healthy in her diet.

“Now that I have a baby that will eventually be eating real meals and not pureed everything, what I eat sets an example for her,” Duff explained. “It’s really important. I want her to see us eating healthy foods so that when she grows up, she wants to make those same decisions.”

We at BabyPost are glad she is thinking of her baby and her health!
