Homemade Hummus

Hummus is one of the healthiest options for condiment or dipping, and is usually a big hit with kids.

Makes two cups

 

Ingredients

1 can (540mL/190z) chickpeas, rinsed and drained, reserving 1/2 cup of the liquid
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup tahini
2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
Drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

1. In bowl of food processor, place chickpeas, chickpea liquid, lemon juice, tahini, 2 garlic cloves and cumin, and process until smooth. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

2. Taste and add another minced garlic clove if needed. To serve, drizzle with olive oil.
