Top Five Baby Shower Mocktails To Celebrate Baby-To-Be

We've rounded up our five favourite, fun mocktails to serve at your baby shower

The jury is still out on whether or not you can alcohol drink at a baby shower. 

Fortunately, for the alcohol-free, things get way hotter than wine-free Sangria and punch. 

These mocktails are cute and fancy, it is your baby shower after all. But still relatively easy to make and super functional. 

For a booze optional baby shower: Grapefruit & Thyme Soda

The Grapefruit and thyme soda is mocktail is just begging for some gin. It's a great option for less traditional showers where some non-pregnant guests might want to drink. But, it's build to be virgin. 


  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Zest and juice of 2 pink grapefruits
  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 10–12 springs of thyme
  • Pinch of salt
  • Seltzer


  • Combine water, salt, zest, juices, and thyme in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce and let simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 1 hour.
  • Run mixture through a cheesecloth to filter out the solids. Return the filtered liquid to the pan, add sugar, and heat until sugar is just dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool, then transfer to a container. You can store it in the fridge for up to 1 week so you can make it well beforehand.
  • To make soda: Combine 1 part syrup with 1.5 parts seltzer.
  • To make a grapefruit-thyme gin fizz: Add 1 part gin and 1.5 parts syrup to a glass filled with ice. Top with seltzer then stir to combine

For a Fall/Winter Baby: Spiced Apple Cider 

Spiced apple cider is a great fall/winter choice when you can't have any booze to warm you up.


  • 2 liters of good quality apple cide
  • 6 cloves
  • 2-1/4 inch thick slices of peeled fresh ginger
  • Peel of 1/2 orange
  • 2 cinnamon sticks


  • Put all the ingredients in a medium-sized pot and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
  • Strain and serve immediately, garnished with cinnamon sticks.

For a boy: Turquoise Lemonade 

Some people like the age-old tradition of all blue everything for expectant mothers of boys.

These lemonades are super cheap and cute. They are especially good for child attendees.


  • Blue raspberry kool aid
  • Sugar 
  • Lemonade mix.


  • Mix everything together 

For going all out: Peachy Sweet

These babies comes from Eleven in West Hollywood. On the plus side, it's a beautiful drink so the Instagram pictures will look amazing. The ingredients are pretty inexpensive, and things you probably already have in their house.

Making these puppies up will be time-consuming. Thinly sliced coconut? 


  • 2 ounces peach nectar
  • 1 ounce chilled apple juice
  • Four 1/2-inch-thick banana slices
  • 1 ounce sweetened coconut milk
  • 1 ounce whole milk
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice
  • 3 very thin coconut slices or 1 peach slice


  • In a blender, combine all of the ingredients except the coconut slices. Puree until smooth. Pour into a chilled highball glass and garnish with the coconut slices.

For the people who can't drink anything at all: Lavender and Mint Lemonade 

This drink is Paelo, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free and pretty much everything else free. If you use date syrup, the colour changes and it's not cute anymore. You can sub out the date syrup for different sweeter. 


  • 750ml of water
  • 1/2 cup date syrup or syrup of your choice (if using fresh coconut water, you may need to lower this amount to avoid over sweetening)
  • A few strips of fresh lemon peel
  • 100ml – 150ml  freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3-5 sprigs of lavender
  • A handful of fresh mint
  • Sparkling water and ice cubes to serve OR Fresh coconut water, chilled


  • Combine the water and the date syrup in a no-stick pot or saucepan over medium stove-top heat, and stir to combine.
  • Bring to the boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes
  • Remove from the heat and add in the lemon peel, lemon juice, lavender and mint, set aside and allow to infuse for a few hours, preferably overnight.
  • Stain and serve with sparkling water or chilled, fresh coconut water and cubes of ice or crushed ice, to your taste.
