Super-Simple 3-Step Fall Leaf Print Craft

Winter is upon, so get outside and grab the last of the fall leaves before it's too late for this fun family craft

Pressed leaves or flowers wither and crack away - doing paint prints lets the beauty of fall leaves stick around much longer. This traditional fall craft is super-simple way to create something beautiful you can use for gifts, letter-writing, table setting, and more (it's also an awesome way to create memories and celebrate the season). And come Christmas, having a stockpile of personalized wrapping and envelopes will make your gifts that much more awesome.

Head out and collect some fall leaves, gather some paints and paper goods you want to print. You can also do this with fabric paint and fabric goods, just make sure your leaves are clean and dry before you start.

You'll need:

  • A few leaves of varying sizes
  • Acrylic paints and a paintbrush
  • Stryrofoam plate for a paint palate
  • Paper to print on (gift bags, envelopes, blank cards, white paper napkins for your table, or anything else you want to print)

1. Select some leaves with a definite shape. Rinse to get rid of dirt, press in a teatowel to dry, and place a paper-towel overtop and iron leaves out to make them stiff and dry. This will make them easier to print.

2. Lay out your leaves, paints, and paper goods you want to print on. Start by painting one side of each leaf and pressing directly onto paper. Lift off paper carefully.

3. Re-paint leaves and repeat to create a design to your liking. Allow to dry.

When it comes to preserving the season with natural prints, think outside the box. Print calendar pages, scrap book pages, blank notebook covers, or paper to make this awesome fall paper globe
