How Pregnant Celebrities Stayed Fit And Healthy

Pregnant celebrities who stayed active during their pregnancies and how they did it

Working out while pregnant, when done properly and with a doctor’s approval, can reap many benefits.

Many celebrities are aware of this and have made staying fit throughout their pregnancies a priority, whether it be by working with a trainer, attending exercise classes or going for hikes. Prenatal exercising can assist in alleviating back pain, headaches and swelling, among many others. Maintaining your muscle mass can mean a shorter labour, easier delivery and can also help you get back to your pre-pregnancy body more quickly.

Here are some ways our favourite famous and fit mama’s stayed active during their pregnancies—hopefully you’ll be inspired to do the same!

Mila Kunis

The actress and her That ‘70s Show partner Ashton Kutcher welcomed a daughter, Wyatt Isabelle, in October 2014. Mila stayed fit during her pregnancy by regularly attending prenatal yoga classes (she even attended a class on her birthday and continued practicing into her 8th month of pregnancy—now that’s dedication!) as well as Pilates classes.

Jenna Dewan Tatum

The actress worked with a trainer during her pregnancy to keep her legs strong and her arms looking toned so that she could show them off at red carpet appearances. She also did Pilates and went for walks and hikes with hubby Channing Tatum and their dogs. She gave birth to an adorable daughter, Everly, in May 2013.

Nicole Polizzi/”Snooki”

The reality star’s stand on health seems to have taken a 180-degree turn since she became a mother. After giving birth to her son in 2012, she began to workout regularly and during her second pregnancy in 2014, she continued to attend circuit workout classes, which had become a staple in her workout routine. She also worked with a trainer, who coached her through prenatal exercises that worked out the full body, followed by 20-30 minutes of walking and running intervals on the treadmill.

Kelly Rowland

Kelly trained 5 days a week for 30 minutes to an hour per day during her pregnancy. She worked with celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins who recommends low-intensity exercises such as squats, lunges and leg lifts. Kelly also incorporated yoga, cardio and light weight training into her prenatal workout routine and walked 2 miles a day. She gave birth to her son Titan in November 2014.

Olivia Wilde

Olivia is a big fan of SoulCycle—the 45-minute long indoor spinning class that gives you a full-body workout. When she was pregnant with her son Otis, she attended SoulCycle classes until she was 8½ months along (!) and practiced yoga. She and funnyman boyfriend Jason Sudeikis welcomed their baby boy in April 2014.
