Top Celeb Baby Names Of 2014

We’ve rounded up the baby name trends of 2014 we have celebs to thank for

From bizarre names to the comeback of 1940s era names, celebrities have given us a wide range of baby name inspiration in 2014. If you’re expecting a baby in the New Year, or celebrity-obsessed, here are some of our favourite celebrity baby names from 2014.

Vintage Inspired

This year there were plenty of babies that had names more suited for a 100-year-old than a newborn. Bruce Willis’ new daughter Evelyn is a lovely name, while Emily Blunt and John Krasinski named their firstborn Hazel.

This name was very popular, with Scarlett Johansson naming her daughter Rose, as well as Kelly Clarkson putting a unique spin on the classic, when she named her daughter River Rose.

Powerful Names

Kelly Rowland named her son Titan Jewell while supermodel Natalia Vodianova named her son Maxim. Both these names evoke power and dominance, Titan being Greek for defender, while Maxim means “the great boy”.

Out of this world

Of course, a list of celebrity baby names wouldn’t be complete without a few that are a little out there. Pete Wentz and Meagan Camper named their son Saint Lazslo, which sounds like a great band name. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale welcomed boy #3 this year, Apollo Bowie Flynn, which combines astronauts, Ziggy Stardust and a typical Irish name all into one long forename.

This name is lovely and simple, and was the choice of Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas for their first son. The name is the second most popular name in the UK and continues to rise up the ranks across the pond. The name means olive tree and its French version, Olivier, is another great unique choice for boys.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher made every That 70’s Show fan squeal with delight with the arrival of their baby girl, Wyatt Isabelle. Kutcher fooled the whole internet with a great baby announcement, keeping the baby pics secret, but the name is perfect. Wyatt is a unique choice for a young girl, but softened when it is combined with the ever-popular Isabelle, the female form of Mila’s grandfather, Yitzhak. Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler also welcomed their second child, and named him Jaxon Wyatt, which proves the name is unisex and unique.

Mia Grace

While we can look forward to the arrival of the next Prince or Princess in 2015, William’s cousin, Zara Phillips gave birth to her first daughter, Mia Grace Tindall, which is a lovely regal name. Mia is a multicultural name, but has roots in Maria, while Grace is a classic English name symbolizing virtue, a fitting name for Prince George’s cousin!
