Everything You Need To Get Your Little One H2O Ready

Everything you need get the best pool style, safety and fun for little ones, all in one place

The summer season is in full-fledge and we can’t think of a better way to cool down with your little one than by spending time at a pool. Whether you plan on using a backyard pool or a community one, your baby is sure to have tons of fun splashing around in the water. We rounded up some of our favourite baby swimsuits, floatation devices, water toys and kiddie pools to ensure that your darling looks stylish and remains safe and entertained this summer.

SWIMSUITS

GIRLS

Swimsuits for girls are more fashionable than ever, featuring ruffles, cool graphics and fun prints. The pink two-piece from The Children's Place is as girly as can be, with its ruffle top and tropical printed bottoms. The one-piece from Gap has a screen-printed image of a fierce (and also totally cute) baby leopard and a UPF factor of 40+ to keep the sun’s rays away from your girl’s sensitive skin. The parrot print bikini from Old Navy is super chic and all kinds of whimsical with it's flutter top and adorable print

Gap Leopard Photo Swim One-Piece, $30

Old Navy Parrot Print Bikini for Baby, $11

BOYS

This year’s coolest swimsuits for boys are all about prints. We love these pale blue trunks from Joe Fresh with colourfully outlined illustrations of ‘gators saying “Hi!” The camo trend isn’t going away anytime soon, and Old Navy gives these printed swim shorts a cool spin by adding 3 bright coloured stripes just below the waistband. The blue and white printed shorts from Gap feature a shining sun and have a shorter length that is perfect for those adorable chubby baby legs.

Gap Sunshine Wave Swim Trunks, $19

FLOATATION DEVICES

A floatation device will allow your child to have fun and become comfortable in the water during those first few years of water exposure. The Stearns Classic Infant PFD offers a secure fit with adjustable straps and helps your babe to keep his head above the water with an additional float behind the neck. For tots who are starting to learn swimming skills, this inflatable tube float by Aqua Leisure is a great choice as it allows for more movement.

Aqua Leisure Deluxe Tot Trainer, $19

POOL TOYS & ACTIVITIES

Keep your little one entertained in the pool with fun water toys like a floating activity center or these colourful boat toys. The activity center provides baby with a shaded inflatable float that features sensory toys such as a rattle and a soft touch star. The charming boat parade from Melissa & Doug includes 3 floating toys that can be linked together in any order to inspire playtime in the pool.

Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Maritime Mates Boat Parade, $14

KIDDIE POOLS

If you don’t have a pool nearby to frequent this summer or if you want to give your baby a smaller space to splash around in, a kiddie pool does the trick. We like this fun purple elephant pool that sprays water out of the trunk when you attach a hose to it. If you prefer an inflatable, this froggy pool comes with a sunshade and is a great option for cooling down.

Fun Froggy Shallow Pool with Sun Shade, $37
