Looking for some family-friendly craft ideas for the festival of lights? Look no further!

Get into the Hanukkah spirit before the candle-lighting and celebrating begins with these crafts you can make at home with your kids. Make your own wrapping paper, decorations, cards and more—all the instructions are there. You may notice we picked 8, so there’s one for each day of the holiday… Happy crafting, and Happy Hanukkah!

Felt Dreidel Banner

Cut out the dreidel shapes as well as the decorative shapes ahead of time for younger kids, or have older kids trace and cut with you. Assemble this bright coloured banner to get your home ready for Hanukkah.

Cardboard Tube Chanukiah

Call it a menorah, or a Chanukiah, this Hanukkah candle holder is fun to add “flames” to as the holiday days go by. Use empty toilet paper rolls to create the candles and decorate them any way the kids want. Paint, markers, crayons, sky's the limit.

Stained Glass Menorah

Every kid loves a glue stick activity, and this is just that. All you need is black construction paper, some coloured tissue paper and the glue stick of course. Fun with glue sticks aside, it also makes a beautiful light-catching decoration to hang in your window.

DIY Hanukkah gift wrap

Potato prints really can be used for any occasion. Try a simple design, or go all out. If you have Hanukkah-appropriate cookie cutters, you could also try using them as stamps, like this.

These busy holiday cards will be a special hand-made treat for friends, teachers and relatives. Start on them early to make sure they arrive in time.

Popsicle Stick Hanukkah Decorations

A variety of crafts using colourful popsicle sticks. Add in a bit of gold paper to make flames on your menorah, or make a dreidel. (You probably don’t have to use hot glue, craft glue should be fine as long as you give it time to dry.)

Festive Gift Bags

Make these ahead to pack kids’ trinkets and small gifts into for the 8 nights of Hanukkah. We love the small menorahs on each bag with the tiny candles.
