How To Wrap The Perfect Gift For The Holidays

Make your gifts stand out under the tree this year with these awesome gift wrapping ideas

So you've done it. You have shopped for everyone on your list and found the perfect present for every last one of them. Good for you! Mission accomplished. You're all set for the holidays. Or are you?

You've still got to wrap all those gifts! Sure you could go with the standard Christmas wrapping paper: Santas and reindeers, holly and bells. Or you could do something a little different and really make your gifts stand out before they are even unwrapped.

What you'll need:

- Brown shipping paper

- Assorted colours of Scotch Washi Tape

- Scotch Magic Tape

- Scotch Masking Tape

- Scotch GiftWrap Tape

- Scissors

- Ribbon

The great thing about the Scotch Expressions Line is that you can really do anything you want. With the many different kinds of tape, the sky really is the limit. By using brown shipping paper, you give yourself a blank canvas with a bit of a rustic feel. What something a little more sleek and modern? Opt for white paper instead.

Want to know what we did?

Start off with the GiftWrap Tape or any clear tape and wrap your present in your brown shipping paper. Using the clear tape gives the wrapping a clean and polished look.

Choose the colours of Washi and Magic Tape you want to use to make your pattern. Start by cutting a triange out of the top of the tape and secure it to the wrapped gift. Alternate colours and length as you as you go.

Keep going until you have made your way back through the colours or until you have covered the gift entirely. We love the look of the blank space contrasted with the vibrant colours of the tape.

Next, we used the Scotch Masking Tape to play with the width of the tapes. You can choose different tapes of varying colours and widths to achieve this look.

We took the tape diagonally across the present, taking advantage of the blank space, yet again, by leaving varying amounts of space between each strip of tape.

Continue alternating tapes until you have covered the entire package.

And viola! You've wrapped and decorated your holiday gifts in a stand-out, completely awesome way!
