There are different types of diapers such as disposable, non-disposable, pull up etc.
Most parents choose to use disposable diapers because they are the most convenient. Two of the most popular brands of disposable diapers are from Huggies.
If you have been looking at Huggies Diapers then you will have seen that they offer several different types, including Huggies Little Movers and Huggies Snugglers.
But which one is better? Which diaper should you use for your baby?

Huggies has been around since 1885, and it was originally called “The Huggie”. It was created by Dr. William A. Huggins who wanted to create a diaper that would keep babies dry while still being soft.

So, to prevent this from happening again, he decided to invent a diaper that could stop any leaks before they started. This led him to develop the first modern diaper.
As time went on, people began to realize how much money they saved by using Huggies diapers instead of other types of diapers.
As a result, the company grew very quickly and soon became the biggest brand of diapers in the world.
Today, Huggies offers a wide range of products, including Pull Up Pads, Baby Wipes, and even baby food.
The company also produces adult incontinence products, such as undergarments and panty liners.
The Huggies Snugglers diaper has a unique design with a soft elastic waistband and leg openings. This allows it to fit well on babies who don’t yet have control over their legs or hips.
It also means that there is no risk of the diaper falling when the baby is in motion.
Pros

Cons
Not suitable for newborns – These nappies are only suitable for babies that weigh at least 16 pounds.
No umbilical cut out – There is no umbilical cut out as they are not designed for newborns.
Not hypoallergenic – This diaper is not made of hypoallergenic materials.
One of the differences between the Huggies Little Movers and Huggies Snugglers is the sizes that they come in.
The Huggies Snugglers are suitable for newborn babies as well as preemie sizes. They range from one pound up to 35 pounds – preemie, newborn, and sizes one through to 6.
The first three sizes all have the umbilical cord cut-out sections. This is important to help the belly button heal, keeping it dry and clean to prevent infection.
Little Movers are designed for slightly older babies that have started trying to crawl and roll around on the floor. They start at size three – 16 pounds – and go up to size 6.
Your baby will probably be around 4 or 5 months old before they are ready to start wearing Little Movers.
Diaper Materials
Another difference between the two types of diapers is their construction.
Huggies Snugglers are hypoallergenic which makes them ideal for babies with sensitive skin.
They are made using gentle absorb lines which are designed to feel very soft and comfortable, with polyester for extra softness.
The waistline of the snugglers is pocketed which is perfect for holding in softer, looser bowel movements. This makes the diapers ideal for younger babies who are still on liquid food only.
They have some elastic, but not too much as the nappy is designed to feel very comfortable rather than tight and snug.
Huggies Little Movers have a different design. They are not hypoallergenic, so if your baby has sensitive skin it is best to try them out with a small pack of these diapers and make sure that their skin does not become irritated before you buy them in bulk.
They have a dry touch liner that is designed to draw moisture away from the skin, keeping your baby feeling dryer for longer and helping to prevent nappy rash.
There is no polyester in the lining, so it is not as soft as the lining of the snugglers. The little mover’s waistband is elasticated and fits very snugly.
This is to help keep the nappy in place while the baby is rolling around and learning to crawl. It is also better for holding in heavier, more solid bowel movements as your baby starts to eat solid food.
Umbilical Cord Protection
The Huggies Snugglers are designed to be used by preemies and newborns as well as older babies. The first three sizes have a special umbilical cut out to protect the belly button as it heals.
This means that it will stay dry and it will not come into contact with any urine or fecal matter, reducing the risk of infection.
The Huggies Snugglers are not designed to be worn by younger babies, as they are meant for older babies who are starting to roll and crawl.
They don’t have an umbilical cut-out, but the design of the waistband means that it does not press directly against the belly button. This means that if it is still healing, the air can still circulate in this area.
Absorbency
One of the most important features of a diaper is its absorbency. You want to know that the diaper is not going to leak. Both the Huggies Snugglers and the Huggies Little Movers are very absorbent.
When tested independently, Huggies Snugglers could hold approximately 10% more liquid than the Huggies Little Movers.
The little movers held in 4 and 3 quarter cups of water whereas the snugglers held in 5 and 1 quarter cups of water. However, the strong elastic on the little movers makes it easier to move around with a full nappy without it falling.
It makes sense for the snuggler to be able to hold more liquid, as younger babies on an entirely liquid diet will urinate more often and will create liquid bowel movements.
They also have a smaller bladder capacity, so they will leak urine throughout the day. Whilst the little mover’s diaper can hold a little bit less liquid, it is still absorbent enough and better than a lot of competitor products.
Summary – Which Diaper Should You Choose?
There is no straightforward answer to which diaper is best. Both the Huggies Snugglers and the Huggies Little Movers are very good products, but they have limitations.
If you are looking for a comfortable diaper that will be perfect for a smaller baby such as a newborn or even a preemie, then the Huggies Snugglers will be ideal.
It is very soft against the skin, it comes in a variety of sizes, and it has an umbilical cut out to protect the belly button. It also has very impressive absorbency.
However, once your baby starts to roll around or try to crawl, then the gentle waistband may not be able to keep the diaper in place and there is a risk of leaks.

These diapers are perfect for rolling and crawling babies as the snug waistband will keep the diaper in place and prevent leaks.
The lining of the nappy is designed to wick moisture away from the skin, keeping your baby dry and comfortable and preventing nappy rash. The waistband does not press down on the belly button, allowing that area to get plenty of airflow.
You might find that instead of choosing one product over the other, you can use them both! You could use Huggies Snugglers for the first 3 to 4 months and then transition to Huggies Little Movers when your baby becomes more active.
